Pavones is a small remote fishing village at the southwestern tip of Costa Rica on the Pacific coast. It is famous among surfers for its long left breaking wave. Miles of deserted beaches backed by virgin rain forest make Pavones an attractive destination for surfers and eco-travelers alike.

Located a five to ten minute walk from the surfbreak and the center of Pavones, Mira Olas offers you both, proximity to the beach and a secluded jungle hide-away.

Comfortable cabins with private bath (some with kitchen) are set in a tropical orchard backed by jungle.

Wildlife watching from the hammock on your porch: Countless birds, among them scarlet macaws and toucans, three species of monkeys, sloths, coatimundis, and more

Panoramic views of the surf break and Golfo Dulce from the hill behind your cabin.

A short trail takes you down into the narrow valley of the Rio Claro where crystal clear river pools invite you to dive in. A great way to cool off during the hottest part of the day.

As committed environmentalists we support local conservation efforts to preserve the natural beauty of this place. We try to tread lightly, avoiding unsustainable practices. Consequently, we do not offer air conditioning but rather use fans, have insulated roofs and good air circulation.

We have no advertising budget and pass the savings on to our guests.
